Surprisingly even analog scales are expensive. I thought about a postage scale, but you need one calibrated for small weights but still with a platform large enough to use. I picked this one up when Amazon had a sale for $43. Scale Review Review date: 2008-12-15 Rating: 10 out of 10 This scale seems to be relatively accurate and consistent. I would definately refer this product to a friend. If you need a scale to keep up with an infants weight gain - this scale is ideal. Gives perfect readings Review date: 2008-12-13 Rating: 8 out of 10 This scale gives exactly the same readings as the one in doctor's office. Very accurate. However I give 4/5 because of following reasons: 1) Amazon says battery included, while it is not. 2) Shape of the scale is not ideal. Most of the times I am afraid that my son's hands might hit the sharp edges of the scale. 3) The reading doesn't stabilize on it's own, unlike many other scales on which the scale flashes the readings once weighing is over. All said, I would recommend one to buy this, just because of the very accurate and consistent results that the scale gives. Accurate! Review date: 2008-11-30 Rating: 10 out of 10 My wife and I were looking for a good baby scale since our 1st kid had a problem with weight gain. She was hesitant on getting this scale and wanted a $1,000 doctor's office type baby scale. I'm glad I saw the great reviews that this scale is getting. After buying this scale, we compared its measurements to what the pediatrician's office scale measured. The difference was usually around 1-2 ounces. So we're very happy with it. On a side note, the baby tray easily removes by using a coin to turn the plastic screw. When the tray is removed, there's an odd Mickey Mouse look-alike face for toddlers to see when they step on the scale themselves. Very pleased with this product - a must have for concerned parents Review date: 2008-11-24 Rating: 10 out of 10 My wife was breast feeding and we were not able to tell how much our son was drinking (first child). At his first doctor visit we found out that he had lost few ounces - not a matter of concern according to the doctor, but we were concerned. After much research and reviews, we end up ordering this scale since it had good reviews and was cost effective. We were very pleased to have it, we used it to weigh our baby after each feed for few days to see how much he is drinking and changing his feeding time accordingly. It was a relief to see baby gaining few ounces after each feed. Now we weigh our baby (2 months old) every week or two.
