It takes something really great or really awful to get me to write a review. This product is really great. I have a 6-year-old and a 4-year-old. My kids are little (we're all tall, just not grande, as my husband would say). I can see my oldest using this product for the next 3-4 years. I don't think the chairs are "tippy". They seem fine to me. Product looks great. We have a small house, and this table sits in our dining area, which the main communal room. I'm proud to have it there. This really is easy to set up. Get a load of this: the company sorted my hardware (the screws and washers), provided the allen wrench (not that big of a deal--but it's better than having to hunt down the right-sized screwdriver), and when the instructions were wrong--are you ready for this?!--someone at the company cut out a 3"x4" piece of paper with the corrected diagram and taped onto the proper place on the included instructions. All the correct parts came, and no extra parts making me wonder whether I missed something. Packaged a little loosely, but all arrived fine. If I have any criticism it is that the company's label appears in a prominent place on the table and chairs. While you can't see it from a distance, it cheapens the look of the product up-close. Wish they hadn't've done that. I did buy a third chair. It's a kids' table, but an adult can comfortably sit in one of the chairs with the kids to do art, etc. I wish I had bought this product a year ago. I would buy from this company/brand again. It's one of those companies that you just feel good about doing business with. Of course, Amazon turned out to be the best-priced, fastest shipper, and the easiest to do business with as well. Great customer service and my daughter loves her table and 4 chairs. Great for coloring playdough and tea parties! Too big for a toddler Review date: 2008-12-02 Rating: 2 out of 10 Although Amazon says this table is for ages 3-7, KidKraft says it is for ages 5-8. It was much too big for my 2 1/2 year old daughter. The table and chairs were both too high, so she was not comfortable sitting there. Also, our kit was missing some washers and both of the chairs wouldn't assemble properly. The customer service at KidKraft was very nice and willing to send replacement parts, but we decided to return the entire table because of the size. To me it seems like a real high quality piece of kids furniture. Be sure to check your measurements though, when we got it we were surprised at how much bigger it was than we expected. We got it for our son soon after he started to walk but it was all too tall for him until after he turned two. We received it as a gift for my three year old, and my experience with 'assembly required' furniture has always been that its cheaply made. But not in this case, very sturdy, beautiful set. As far as I can tell it's not laminated, but solid wood. My 3 year old fits great at this table as do I when I'm working with her, so instead of just a toddler play table, this will probably be her homework desk for her first few years of elementary school! |
